I've been in Kuwait for a few days. Last week, I stopped by the Kuwait Towers, which is the big scenic spot in Kuwait. It's about the equivalent of going to the Sears Tower in Chicago. You go up, see the skyline and come down or go to the restaurant. It's pretty nice, but you can only do it once.
It's somewhere between 183 and 187 meters tall (depending on what sign you read) - which is like 600-615 feet. At 12 feet a story, it is about 51 stories tall. The odd thing is that it is a water tank (or rather two) + a lighting tower. Both towers together hold 2 million gallons of water.
What I found most interesting about these towers is that when Iraq invaded during the Persian Gulf War (or before, I guess), they destroyed everything. Even the Air Conditioning was savagely destroyed. This is one of those pride attacks and the Kuwaits took it personally and rebuilt it to its old glory. Its pretty neat looking, but none of the online pictures do it justice.
Although, if you want to go google sightseeing, it is always possible.
