Living in a country where the world's most popular name is widely used means that I run into many Mohamed's (with slightly different spellings).
In the US, I'd say it as "Mo-Ha-Med"
But you actually don't say it like that. It's more of a mmHA-med. The M at the beginning is very silent and sneaky.
And it is difficult for me to say. So I do a little cough-Hamad, or mmmmmamad. Or the like to disguise my vernacular faux pas.
The only thing that makes it easier is that most people with the name Mohamed go by, or are forced to go by, something different.
