Cubbiiiiiies!

OK - I admit it. I love watching sports. Most people here have no interest in baseball. But for those that can't understand how people can watch a 3 hour game with 25 minutes of action, I offer you the fans of cricket. They can watch a multiple-day game with less action. Less action because you can make contact with a ball and not run. And you can bat forever (I think).

But I'm watching Orbit ESPN (rebranded so they can show sports from all networks) and they have the Cubs/Cardinals game. It is the bottom of the 8th inning and the Cubs are down 4-3 with a runner on first and second.

I like the new seats and ivy on the stadium. It's nice. I'm definitely going to miss going to Cubs games with Genny, Richie, and Rob.

What an awesome game!!! I heard bits of it on the radio...the next best thing to being at the game is hearing Ron Santo!

Did you hear that Derek Lee is out for 3 months? Not good news. It's interesting that down south it seems that every game on WGN is a Sox game and not the Cubs. Here I was thinking that I could watch the Cubbies everyday but so far that has not been the case. I'm going to concentrate on baseball after the Stanley Cup playoffs are over. I'll miss going to the Cubs games too. I think Genny is in her hot dog eating prime and could possibly put away about 5 or 6 Wrigley dogs on any given night. I'm kicking myself for missing the best years of her hot dog eating career. I have subsituted the Cubs with the Nashville Sounds. They are the Brewer's AAA club and the stadium is a 5 minute bike ride from my place. They have thirsty Thursdays there where you can get 2 for 1 beers and $6 tickets. Not as good as the Cubs but not bad either. I plan on going to many more games this summer.
