So we've managed to snap a few photos of Ellie over the last two days when she is asleep and we aren't. They're posted online at flickr here: http://www.flickr.com/search/?w=22169732@N00&q=%2220080527+-+Ellie+Noor+Kothari%22&m=tags

Contraction Duration and Intervals
Genny woke up this morning and wasn't sure if she had bladder problems or if her water had broken. It had broken.
After a call to the doula and quick check of what was happening, we decided to stay at home until the contractions were more frequent and intense contractions. So I started keeping track and built this quick chart. At around 11:33 we decided to go into the hospital.

Beard Demolition
Beard Demolition, originally uploaded by ankbomb.
Yup, it was time. After 3 months I decided to shave it off. I was hoping to wait until June to keep the weekly pictures going a little longer, but nah. Enough was enough and I had a bit of fun shaving. It's our first video on flickr so hopefully it'll work well.

Carnegie Mellon - Qatar Graduation
Genny and I were invited to the graduation ceremony and commencement of the first non-Pittsburgh undergraduate class. We didn't have a chance to attend the ceremony as we had a pre-natal class to attend, but went to the reception afterwards.
During the ceremony, the Emir was there sitting in the front row with a video camera to film his daughter as she was one of the graduating class. We spoke with Dean thorpe who said that "there's nothing like pressure knowing that the Emir is in the front row filming you."
The entire campus was lit up and honestly made the place look majestic. The reception put our reception in Pittsburgh to shame in comparison as there was 5-star catering and an impressive array of media on-site.
As for the students, 35 graduated (23 business/12 CS) who were mostly female (27).
So we're very proud of the graudating class.
Genny and I finally have other non-staff alumni in the country now!
