In 5 days she's managed to:
-grow 2 cm
-smile
-bob her head a little
-lose her umbilical stump
-have projectile poop come out just after removing her diaper
-and stick her tongue out
She's a dream come true.

She's so cute, I could just eat her up!! I love her little tongue sticking out while yawning... Priceless. But seriously, projectile poop? Eeek!

Wandered into your blog looking for info on compounds in Qatar (somewhat begrudgingly as we've avoided them at the last 3 expat assignments- including Balikpapan, Indonesia)... I agree with your comments, you don't have to go local, but at least "live" in the country you're in.
So ended up reading the rest of your blog sounds like you guys have enjoyed living in the region, I didn't realize quite how centrally located it was. We will probably be moving there in August. Wandered if you ever figured out anything on Iran? We're also Americans and have lots of friends there (we're oil) but have not actually found anyone who had done it. I do know they will put a post-it note type visa in embargo passports but this was from a Scot not an American.
PS You're little one is darling- have fun, they grow up fast (we have a 5 and 7 year old) :)
